Case Study – Molten Metal Technology

The IMPACT team has a number of former employees from Molten Metal Technology (MMT), which deployed a commercial waste recycling technology from proof of concept through commercialization during the 1990’s. The technology involved the dissolution of waste materials into their elements in a molten metal bath and subsequent recombination into recyclable products. The team’s expertise includes reactor design, containment, energy addition, lance and tuyere design, and process control.

IMPACT has used this expertise to aid clients in the development and scale-up of a number of high temperature melting processes.
